Luxurious French living

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

The idea of living in a French village appeals to me every single time I watch Jean de Florette. So my heart skipped a beat when I saw this wonderful French home in the village of Roquebrune (P.O.A).

It was the staircase that I fell for first. I don’t think I’ve ever falling for a staircase before.

Luckily, the rest of the home is just as stunning in its detail and restoration. There are four bedrooms, a designer kitchen, wooden beams, a guest house, and some stunning views. It is perfectly secluded and surrounded by wonderful little cobbled streets.

Enough reasons to at least enquire about the price, surely…?

It might be the final day of our property poets competition, but it’s not over yet – there’s still today’s property to come, and next week’s poll, which will crown one of this week’s top poems the overall winner.

And so to today’s property. This palatial Portuguese villa uses lots of glass and steel and enjoys panoramic views of ocean and golf course. It has five bedrooms and six bathrooms, and is on the market for €6,495,000.

And the rules: compose and tweet a poem about this property, no longer than the length of a single tweet, and include the tag #propertypoets.  The deadline for entries is 10am tomorrow morning and we will announce the winner by 2pm on Monday.

Property poets: day three

Wednesday, April 14th, 2010

It’s the mid-way point in our property poets competition, and if neither of the properties so far have inspired you to become a Twitter poet, perhaps today’s will be the one that does.

Today’s property is the New York library house that we blogged about last month. This 12-room apartment is situated in a neo-Gothic Manhattan cooperative and comes with a library stocked with 2,500 books, a wine cave and a media room. It’s on the market for $7,900,000.

We’re asking you to compose and tweet your very best poem about this property. It can be no longer than a single tweet in length, and make sure you include the tag #propertypoets.

Today’s competition will close at 10am tomorrow morning and we will announce the winner by 2pm. Each day’s lucky winner will receive £25 of Amazon vouchers and an overall winner, who will be decided by your vote (via a poll which will appear on the blog next Monday), will receive another £25 of Amazon vouchers. See who won Monday’s competition.

For inspiration, take a look at some of the poems from Monday and Tuesday’s competitions.
