This week we learnt from the Realestalker that Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter) has added a third property to his burgeoning Manhattan portofolio – his latest is a five-bedroom townhouse on West 12th Street with a price tag of $5,650,000.
All very impressive for one so young, but, asks Yo Mama, could wee Daniel be biting off more than he can chew? Indeed, could Radcliffe be … the new Nic Cage? Watch this space.

The Rat and Mouse, meanwhile, reports that David Cameron plans to appoint Kirstie Allsopp to the House of Lords, this as part of a strategy to “sprinkle stardust on the red benches.” We may well start a campaign to ennoble Phil Spencer.
From one Phil to another: Mr Jackson over at A Slice of the Property Cake is none too impressed by Prince Philip’s recent comments on second homeownership and population growth.
He thinks Philip’s nostalgia for the Tudor era – when England had just three million people – betrays “breathtaking insensitivity and hypocrisy”. With our eyes firmly fixed on New Year’s honours, we couldn’t possibly comment.
Questions of class are also preoccupying the very well bred property Hound over at Brickwork, these being inspired by news that the BBC is about to produce a sequel to Upstairs, Downstairs.
Did you know that the Bellamy house – 165 Eaton Place – doesn’t exist? That the series used 65 Eaton Place instead and cunningly concealed the ruse by adding a 1 to the house number? Me neither. My life is now complete.
Apparently the Upstairs, Downstairs sequel will be set in the 1930s, which leads us nicely to our final item in this week’s roundup: the rather lovely Art Deco houses featured over on FindaProperty’s Winging It. Mr Hudson, we fear, would not approve. And as for Prince Philip …
